How we research this directory

What we are

DietRight.ai is an independent directory of AI-powered diet and nutrition tools. We don't build a nutrition app, we don't sell one, and no company can pay to appear here, appear higher, or be described more favourably.

That matters because of what the rest of this space looks like. Search for the best AI nutrition app and most of what you'll find is published by a company whose own product happens to come first.

How a product gets listed

To be included, a product must be both:

• Genuinely AI-powered — the AI does real work, not just marketing copy.
• Focused on diet or nutrition — not a general health app that happens to log meals.

Of 163 products researched, 110 are published, 31 were excluded, and 17 are held back pending further checking. Common reasons for exclusion: no verifiable AI capability behind the marketing, no way for an ordinary person to buy or use the product, or nutrition being incidental to what the product actually does.

What "verified" means

Every listing carries the month we last confirmed its details. We work from the product's official website wherever possible, falling back to app-store listings and reputable third-party sources when the official source is missing, blocked or incomplete. We record the sources behind each factual claim.

Verification is a point-in-time statement, not a guarantee. Pricing in this category changes often. If a listing looks wrong, tell us.

What we do with things we couldn't confirm

This is the part most directories get wrong, so it's worth being precise: we treat "we couldn't confirm this" and "this isn't available" as different facts.

If we can't confirm whether a product has a free trial, we don't record "no free trial" — we leave it blank. A blank on this site means we don't know, and we'd rather show you a gap than a confident wrong answer.

This has a visible consequence: some listings are shorter than others. That's the honest result, and it's why we don't offer filters for details we haven't reliably confirmed across the directory.

Why there are no ratings

We don't publish scores or star ratings, because we haven't built a scoring method we would be willing to defend. An unexplained "4.7 out of 5" is decoration — it looks like information without carrying any.

If we introduce ratings later, we'll publish the method and the weighting first, and a product will simply have no rating where the evidence doesn't support one.

How listings are ordered

Alphabetically. Nothing else. No commercial relationship influences ordering, wording or whether a product appears at all.

Corrections

If something here is out of date or wrong — especially pricing — pleasetell us. Corrections from the companies listed are welcome, and are checked the same way as everything else.
